paris

We are going to Paris in a couple of weeks & staying near Montmartre!

Anyone have any suggestions of must see/do/etc?

I think we will definitely try to visit:
Musée d'Orsay
Sacré Cœur
A nice garden/park of some kind (maybe Jardin du Luxembourg)
A nice book shop

Thanks :)

hey!

I think you should go to this art gallery:

http://www.jeannerobillard.com/

They usually show Rebecca Dautremer's work. Her work is amazing!

Lucky! Lovely, lovely Paris.

The Vallée de Chevreuse is outside of Paris (30mins by car/RER), but it's beautiful. (I'm biased, I used to live there!) It's in the middle of a National Park, if forests are your thing :-)

Hey there !
I'm from Paris. I made a post on nice things to make in Paris, right now ...
You can check it out :)

* First, DON'T miss the Musée d'Orsay. My favourite rooms being the furniture / Art Nouveau ones. People often skip them. Don't !

* Le Petit Palais is great too. And the entrance is free ! (I blogged it, as well as the Mosquée)

* As for Parks / Gardens ... You should definitely go and see the Buttes Chaumont. A 19th Century Romantic era Park. It's gigantic. Hills, flowers, peacocks, a waterfall hidden into a grotto, rivers, a lake / pool surmounted by an island in its center. From the top of the "island" you can see Paris and the Sacré Coeur :)

* I think that the Tuileries and the Luxembourg are quite boring ... Very "flat".

* Oh ! The Paris Opéra is to die for, as well !
You don't have to actually attend to a show to see it. Just enter the main hall and have a look at the majestic entrance and the fantastic marble stairs. It's worth it !

Have fun,
